• Why is Facebook doing this?
• First, with end-to-end encryption, Facebook will have no responsibility on what people say on these services. That means no moderation cost.
• Second, this integration means Facebook can use your data from both the platform to target ads more effectively.
• Third, this will make these apps more interconnected, thus reducing a chance of splitting. Facebook can deny anti-trust lawsuits wanting it to split and sell Instagram.
